Sheldon Stehman is a Recreation Coordinator for Water Gap Wellness Center. For as long as he could remember, Pennsylvania native Sheldon Stehman has enjoyed hiking, climbing and camping in the back country of rural Pennsylvania, and as such, developed has a passion for the great outdoors.
This passion led Sheldon to enroll in two different AmeriCorps programs and later to become a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) graduate. During this time, Sheldon traveled to 43 states and even helped build trails for St. Helen’s National Volcanic Monument.
Sheldon proudly has over 10 years of experience as an outdoor instructor/facilitator. He has had the pleasure to work with groups of all ages and all walks of life, and has worked with Project U.S.E., running outdoor wilderness courses using experiential education to teach life skills.
Sheldon has learned through adventure and understands the great impacts adventure activities have on mind, body and spirit. As a person in recovery, Sheldon understands the difficulties involved in the healing journey as he helps guide clients through creative art sessions and outdoor activities.
In Sheldon’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, singing and breathing in the fresh mountain air.
